Blackpool FC Victory Parade Monday 24th May 2010

If you were on Planet Mars yesterday you will probably not be aware that Blackpool defeated Cardiff City 3-2 in the Championship play-off Final at Wembley Stadium to earn promotion to the Premier League.

It will be Blackpool’s first appearance to the Premier League since the 1992 founding of the competition and their first appearance in English football’s top flight in 39 years. Blackpool have now, uniquely, been promoted out of all three tiers of the Football League through the play-off system.

The Blackpool team  led by their manager Ian Holloway will board an open top bus this Monday at Gynn Square (North Shore) on the Promenade at around 4.30pm.

They will then travel down the Promenade past North Pier, Blackpool Tower and Central Pier to the Waterloo headland opposite Waterloo Road and the Dutton Arms Pub.

A stage and screen will be erected in the area and the players and manager will greet the fans at approximately 5.30pm.
