FAQ Sandcastle Water Park
What is the Hyperzone?
The Hyperzone consists of two adrenaline thrill seeking slides, the Masterblaster and the Sidewinder. The purchase of a Hyperzone wristband will allow the rider to enjoy these slides, however there are certain age, height and weight restrictions, so make sure you fit the crieria before you buy.
Should I buy in Advance?
Sandcastle Waterpark has a fantastic easy to use website which allows you to buy your products at 10% discount – you can also beat the queues on arrival. You can however turn up and pay on arrival.

Are there any Lockers or Changing Rooms?
There are three changing rooms, a family are for families with young children and a male and female changing room. All are equipped with lockers which require a refundable 50p coin.There are also additional lockers in the waterpark.
Where can I park?
The Sandcastle has a council pay and display car park located to the South of the building alongside the promenade and opposite the North gate of the Pleasure Beach. There are alternatives alongside the Yeadon Way (main route in from the M55 follow the exit signs for South Shore). You may also be able to find car parking in adjacent streets but we sure to check the restriction signs as the parking attendants are very efficient in Blackpool.
Can I Spectate?
Sandcastle Waterpark is a family experience and so they encourage the whole family to participate even if they do not want to ‘take the plunge’. There is plenty of seating located around the interior of the park so you can indeed watch. On this basis a discretionary reduced rate is available from reception.
Does it get busy?
Yes it can get quite busy especially during school holidays where the busiest days seem to be Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. If you do happen to visit on a day where you have to queue for a while, the park staff will offer complimentary drinks and sweets to make the time pass quicker. Don’t forget though if you book on-line you are guaranteed a fast track entry and can beat the queue.
Can I Stay All Day?
Yes if you so wish, your admissions charge is for that particular day.
Is There Anything for small children?
Yes the Sandcastle has something for everyone. There are areas of shallow water and slides that are shared family experiences.
Caribbean Storm Treehouse – Interactive adventure play area and giant tipping coconut!!
Fort Riptide – Rock Based Fort is stocked with cannons ans slides!!
HMS Thundersplash – A Marooned Galleon decked with water jets and cannons!!
Treetops Water Chute – Family Friendly Water Chutes where 3 riders can race together!!
Shimmering Shallows – A sleepy lagoon haven for little mermaids and pint sized pirates.
Barrel Blast – Blast Jets of Water over unsuspecting victims floating below!!
Supersoaker – The UK’s biggest water cannon, just hit the detonator and get soaking!!
Thunderfalls Waterslides – Two 300 foot giant slides with thrills and spills at every turn!!
Lagoon Bay – A Relaxing Shallow Water area but beware of hidden cannons!!
Typhoon Lagoon Wave Pool – Listen for the surf tune and head for the pool!!
Ushi Cushi River Creek – An Action River with watery surprises, a brilliant family favourite!!

White Knuckle Slides
Masterblaster – The Masterblaster is the Worlds longest indoor Rollercoaster Waterslide! You must be over 1.15m in height and 8 years old to ride this slide. You must also be under 18 stones.
Sidewinder – The First Indoor White Knuckle Sidewinder in the World!! You must be at least 1.1 metres tall and 6 years or older to ride this slide. You must also weigh under 18 stones for single tubes and 32 stones for double tubes.
On busy days and Tuesday’s, Wednesdays and Thursdays during Easter, summer and half term holidays, you may be limited to one ride on the slide, but don’t worry you will be invited to go back on later. In the mid week during off peak periods the slide has limited opening hours for unlimited riding so you can go round time and again!!
Duelling Dragons – Wet, Wild and white knuckle, these two slides are fast and furious!!

The Sandcastle has catering outlets both in and out of the waterpark, these offer a range of hot and cold snacks and meals to suit all appetites!
Book on-line to guarantee entry, beat the queue and receive a special internet only discount!!! It’s a simple procedure which won’t take long – you will be issued a reference number, then all you have to do is come down and present your payment notification page which shows your reference number at the guest services counter located at the trading post outlet and you are on your way to enjoying a fantastic day out!!
Please Note: There is a £1.50 booking fee for purchasing on-line. Guests will be asked to bring with them some form of proof of address and their reference number page print out (or written if you do not have a printer), if you are purchasing for someone else they must bring something with the purchasers address on.
DON’T FORGET – Guests can by pass the main reception and head straight to the guest services counter!
