Heathrow for example the UK’s premier airport charges over £15 a day even provincial traditional holiday departure airports like Manchester or Gatwick can charge up to £8 a day so it can add a considerable sum to a family week or fortnight in the sun. It seems the strain on family budgets this year has been never ending. The exchange rate for the £ to the Euro or the $ has declined markedly over the last 8 Months or so giving very poor value for British travellers wanting to holiday abroad. Talking from experience we were on the West Coast of the USA last January and a breakfast meal in the local McDonalds set us back almost £50 on the equivalent exchange rate for 2 adults and 2 kids. So when holidaying abroad it pays to take note of what potential charges you can face when you want to park your car at the airport for a week or two. If you are within easy reach of Blackpool Airport then there is some good news. This particular airport does not charge for parking for departing passengers for up to 15 days. That alone could save a whopping £225 if a flight was to be taken from Heathrow or £120 if Gatwick or Manchester. Blackpool is served by the M55 Motorway which of course connects on to the M6 15 miles East at Preston which also has close Motorway links to the M61 down into Manchester and the M62 across into Yorkshire and Humberside, so it is within easy reach of all parts of Northern and Central England. The Borders region and the North East are only a little further afar and what may seem a small inconsideration in travel time could reap rewards in no parking charges. Currently Blackpool Airport serves Numourous Destinations: Spain: Malaga, Murcia, Alicante Balearic Islands: Ibiza, Palma Majorca and Mahon Canary Islands: Tenerife. Portugal Faro and Maderia Switzerland: Geneva Italy: Venice, Sardinia, Rome, Sorrento Ireland: Dublin Domestic Routes: Belfast and Isle of Man Blackpool is of course a destination resort within its own right and any one flying from the airport really should consider staying over for a night or two to see what the town has to offer. With the Pleasure Beach, Blackpool Tower, Sandcastle Water Park Complex and ans some great shows on offer it could be just the right start to your sunshine holiday. Here at Moorbank House we can offer low cost accomodation and we also don’t charge to park your car We are situated in South Shore less than 2 miles North of the Airport and very close (a short walk) to Blackpool Pleasure Beach and South Pier. We can also cater for early breakfasts and make sure you are up and out to catch that all important flight. azzaMatt asked:
Im going into a hotel, bed and breakfast and you get a tea time meal. But i dont know what to take with me, and im going for 7 days. Here we are with a subject very close to my heart, Castlemaine 4X beer is to be withdrawn from the UK market Brewer Lion Nathan is withdrawing the brand from the UK at the end of the month, 25 years after it was introduced to British Pubs and Supermarkets. InBev UK was licensed to produce the lager at its Samlesbury brewery in Lancashire, northwest England and as such it was widely available in Blackpool Pubs and CIU clubs such as the Duple a little way around the corner from us here in Moore Street, South Shore Blackpool. Still time marches on and I suspect there will be other fizzy no mark brands in to fill the void before long, as for me well I will have to revert to the Aussie Favourite Fosters that always gives me a headache ![]() If it was Stella they would call it Wife Beater!! woodall44@btinternet.com asked:

Me and my partner are going to Cleethorpes for the night in mid July- We’ve got the train tickets but as of yet no place to stay. Firstly, does anyone know of any nice/clean/Cheap B&B’s in Cleethorpes? Secondly, I know in Blackpool you can just walk along and see loads of places with ‘Vacency’ signs- is it like that in Cleethorpes? Will we be able to get a place to stay on the day fairly easy? Thanks x |
