Blackpool has centred its tourism around drinking and lower working class day trippers.
This has been a natural progression and Blackpool excels at attracting this trade and as such probably doesn’t want to fix something that isn’t broken.
Blackpool can only draw from a different market at the expense of losing existing markets.
The elderly or middle class family are unlikely,on the whole ,going to be drawn to Blackpool whilst its attractions are swarming with lager louts, ethnic minorities and lower working class people.Apart from the actual nature of the visitors being a negative, they existing tourists are content to accept a much lower standard of service and quality from the resort.
I dont think Blackpool is in any hurry to lose its “chav” image as long as those types bring disposable income”.
Rid the chavs.
Clean up that sea, oh the filth.
Take care.
