The Dutton Arms South Shore Blackpool
The Dutton Arms South Shore Blackpool suffered an Arson Attack in the early hours of Monday 25th January. Around 70 fire-fighters tackled the blaze and around 20 persons were evacuated from the neighbouring flats after smoke poured out of the premises and engulfed the local area.
These shots were taken just after 9.00 am and the smell of smoke is still acrid in the air locally. Two appliances were still in attendance with crews apparently dousing down any remaining hot spots.
Fire Crews were called by a member of staff that was sleeping on the premises at 1.20 am this morning and who fled the building with her 11 year old son.
The Blackpool Gazette is currently reporting that a 29-year-old man from Blackpool has been arrested on suspicion of burglary, criminal damage and arson.
The Dutton Arms is a popular South Shore pub and regularly holds drinks promotions in the Winter time to attract trade and to compete with the local Wetherspoons The Auctioneer.
The news of this arson follows the Grand Hotel event which took place last July a couple of hundred yards up the road.
