Can you Afford Not to Check Us Out?
Q. Do you accept one night bookings on a Friday or Saturday night?
A. In Principle yes, a fixed number of rooms are set aside for one night bookings, please phone us. We don’t however accept one night stays on Fridays or Saturdays during the Blackpool Illuminations Season which in 2017 runs from Friday 1st September to Sunday 5th November 2017 nor on any Bank Holiday weekends throughout the year.
Q. Do you accept stag parties?
A. No Sorry we are a Family B&B (see comment below)
Q. Do you accept hen parties?
A. No Sorry search google for a party hotel in Blackpool FY1. This will put you in the centre of town close to where all the clubs are. South Shore Blackpool is more geared towards family trade as the larger family attractions are in this part of town. The pubs and clubs in this part of town are all closed by midnight
Q. If I book and change my mind can I get my deposit back?
A. No, all deposits are non-returnable. While a room is held in your name, we will be turning down other bookings. Exact Terms and Conditions regarding refunds can be viewed here
Q. Do you have to be 18 to book?
A. No, but all parties on arrival must be accompanied by at least 1 adult 18 years or older. Room(s) are normally secured against a debit/credit card number (although we can take cheques for deposits if the booking is more than 14 days forward). Details such as those will only be taken from the registered card holder.
Q. I don’t have a credit/debit card – do you take cheques?
A. Yes see the answer above. We can also take Postal Orders by way of deposit for persons who do not hold a normal chequeing account. For those persons who reside abroad and do not have a UK bank checking account please telephone us. If guests are residing outside of the UK Sterling Area is usually possible for an International bank transfer of deposit to be arranged with an IBAN number. Please ring us for details.
Q. Am I guaranteed a parking space?
A. In short yes if you are able to book a room via this website (we apply different arrangements for bookings made through partner websites) and require off street parking you will get a space, but you must tell us at the time of booking. Those that book on-line need to advise us they are travelling to Blackpool by car, there will be an option on the booking form for you to do this. We will confirm the fact you have parking either by telephone at the time of booking or by return email when booking on-line. We can only guarantee parking to bookings via this website as we are directly able to control availability of rooms and parking. If in any doubt and parking is important to you then please call us before booking on-line.
Bookings made through partner sites (such as booking.com) need to contact us to reserve parking, prior to booking. If they do not do so they will be allocated parking on arrival only if there are spaces available. If guests contact us having booked through a partner website and spaces are not available at that time, then they may cancel their booking free of charge. This will have to be done via the booking portal website as we are unable to action these cancellations locally. Free street parking is available in Moore Street and most other surrounding streets in South Shore Blackpool.
Q. I am a disabled guest will I have access to my car?
A. Yes Disabled Guests occupying ground floor rooms will be offered parking spaces to the front of the property adjacent to the access doors. We would always prioritise disabled guests
Q. Where should I park when I arrive.
A. You should pull up on the kerb by the front door and come up and ring the door bell. We will advise you where to park. If parking is to the rear we will direct you to your room and show you where to park once you have dropped your bags in.
Q. We are a family party can you park a mini bus?
A. Yes provided it is of a size up to 16 seats. You will need to liaise with us direct on the telephone.
Q. If all the parking spaces have been allocated, where can I park?
A. It is unusual for us to run short of space as we can allocate a space almost for every room in the b&b but if we do: There is free on street parking outside Moorbank House on the Western side of Moore Street but spaces are filled quickly at busy times. The Street has a single yellow line along the Eastern side, this is enforced during office hours Monday to Saturday. Parking is permitted on this line overnight and on Sundays. Visitors to Blackpool should ALWAYS check street parking sings for posted restrictions before parking.
Q. Is your car park secure?
A. It is not gated but is well lit and covered by CCTV – all cars are parked at owners risk. We will advise you at the time of parking to remove all valuables such as Sat Nav kits etc just to be on the safe side but we have never had any problems.
Q. How close to the night-life are you?
A. There are a number of pubs including family bars on South Pier and those with Dining options such as The Auctioneer, The Velvet Coaster (Wetherspoons) and The Dutton Arms, CIU clubs and restaurants nearby as well as well as the Grovesner Casino. Yates Wine Lodge South Shore is a short walk although most of the post midnight night life takes place in the centre of town which is a short tram or bus ride away, 5 minutes in a taxi or a 20 minute stroll.
Q. How close to the Pleasure Beach are you?
A. Put this way you can hear the screams as the Pepsi Max Big One goes over the top Outside our Front Door. The Sandcastle Water Park Complex is across the Promenade from the Pleasure Beach adjacent to South Pier.
Q. How close to Blackpool seafront and beach are you?

Q. We are travelling to Blackpool by Train which station is best for you?
A. Blackpool South is a 300 metre walk from Moore Street. Check your connections as most people will have to change at Preston to a Blackpool South train.
Q. Do your en-suites have showers or baths?
A. All Showers 8.5Kw electric or better
Q. Can I smoke in my room?
A. No, we are no smoking throughout. A smoking area has been set aside immediately outside the property for smokers. Please see our terms and conditions here for how we handle cases where smoking has taken place inside the room or en-suite bathroom.
Q. Do you have Ground Floor Rooms?
A. Yes Three, Two Doubles, and a Family (sleeps up to 5)
Q. Will you let Family Rooms for All Adult Occupation? (We are 4 lads or 4 girls coming up for a day out at the Pleasure Beach and we notice the cheapest option for us is to all sleep together in a Family Room).
A. No All our family room which sleep 4 or 5 persons are equipped with Bunk Beds. Trading Standards advise us due to health and safety considerations it is not acceptable to allow adults to sleep in bunk beds. Some Blackpool Accommodation Providers will allow this, sorry we will not, so unless you are prepared to share twin rooms please see the entry above about Stags and Hens and search for a Party hotel.
Q. Do you accept pets?
A. Sorry we Do Not. We have guests that stay with us and that lodge their pets at local kennels.
Q. Is breakfast included?
A. All prices quoted on this and partner websites include breakfast. If you are looking for a room only deal please call us.
Q. Do you serve evening meals?
A. No we found the demand for this service diminished considerably over the last couple of seasons so have discontinued it There are plenty of varied dining options available locally from traditional Blackpool fish and chips to gourmet dining at the local Casino.
Q. Do you cater for special diets?
A. Yes, we can cater for most diets with advance notice. Please advise us of your exact requirements at the time of booking.
Q. What is the latest time I can check in by on my day of arrival.
A. We don’t really have a cut off time as we are aware that guests can be delayed through traffic or other problems. If an arrival is anticipated to be after 21.00Hrs we would appreciate a call. We do not have a 24 hour reception and will at some point retire to bed.
Q. Can you cater for disabled persons?
A. We do have ground floor rooms (all equipped with shower) that may suit partially disabled persons. Provided the guest can walk a few steps and climb the 3 steps into the Dining Room these may suffice. Please see our Access Statement for a description of the exact layout of Moorbank House.
Q. I want to surprise my partner with some fresh flowers in our room can you arrange this?
A. Of course we can – we have a local florist we use but perhaps the easiest way is for you to go through Interflora. The local Interflora is Jeanette’s and they can deliver to us the previous or same day ready for your room when you arrive. Prices start around £20 and can go as high as you like. Q. Do we have to be back at a certain time of night?
A. No, this is 2014 not 1964, On arrival you will be given your keys and may come and go as you wish for the duration of your stay. All we ask is that you please keep the noise down when you return late at night in consideration of the other guests and that you ensure the front door is closed behind you.
Q. We’re coming by train/coach, can we leave our luggage until check in?
A. Yes. If your rooms are ready on arrival you will be granted immediate access. Rooms are always ready from 14.00Hrs
Q. Can we leave our luggage on the day we depart and collect it nearer to out train/coach departure time?
A. Yes but all luggage must be collected by 18.00 Hours unless by prior arrangement.
Q. What time can we Check In?
A. All rooms will be available for occupation from 14.00 hrs on the day of arrival. You are welcome to arrive any time after 10.30 Hours and provided the room is ready you will be allowed immediate access. If it isn’t ready then you may leave your luggage and/or we will get your car parked up. You can then depart and enjoy your day in Blackpool returning at a time which suits you.
Q. What time do we have to Check Out?
A. We serve Breakfast between 08.30 and 09.15 Hours every morning we request all Guests vacate their rooms on the day of departure by 10.00 hrs.
Q. Can you provide cot(s) and bedding?
A. Yes but please telephone us to discuss room requirements beforehand, this is a better option than booking online. Where mum and dad are in a double room we do not charge for infants in cots.
Q. Babysitting, do you provide it?
A. No we do not but we can provide an audio baby monitor if you wish to have a drink in our bar of an evening.
Q. Do you have a bar?
A. Yes we are a fully licensed premises, we offer lager, bitter and cider and a wide range of spirits, wine and some alcopops. There is also a selection of soft drinks for the children.
Q. Do you have ironing facilities?
A. We have placed Irons/ Ironing Boards on the landings throughout the Bed and Breakfast for guests use. You are welcome to use these. We ask that all ironing be done on the supplied board and not on beds or carpets.
Q. Does the B&B have wifi?
A. Yes we have a secure broadband service available throughout the hotel, wifi passwords are published in guest information packs.
